“If you want to give a light to others, you have to glow yourself.”

“Light the World” by Sarah Richards Samuelson

One day, when the Smith family was experiencing some religious conflict, Lucy Mack Smith “retired to a grove of handsome wild cherry trees not far distant and prayed to the Lord.”

Sound familiar?

Maybe that experience inspired Joseph, years later, to do similarly when his mind was heavy with internal religious conflict.

If so, Lucy’s example was a priceless treasure to Joseph, and to all of us by extension.

“If you want to give a light to others, you have to glow yourself.”

PRESIDENT THOMAS S. MONSON

What we do matters.

The light we reflect helps others to reflect. Change. Grow. And glow.

So let’s watch our actions today, for surely, someone else is watching them, too.
