God said similar phrases to
Oliver (section 6),
Hyrum (section 11),
Joseph Knight (section 12),
And David Whitmer (section 14).
But should that really surprise us?
This isn’t necessarily a lesson on repetition—it wasn’t a repeat to these men who received the revelations like it is for us reading the revelations.
This is a lesson on God.
God, Who is the same today, tomorrow, and forever.
God, who has said “what I say unto one, I say unto all.” (D&C 61:36, 25:16, 82:5, 93:49).
So maybe, instead of skipping these phrases as we see them repeated, we should dive deeper.
Because if God said them to Oliver, Hyrum, Joseph, and David…surely He will say them to you and me too.
Give heed, reap, and ask.
A great and marvelous work has come forth.
And you are called to be part of it, too.
“God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, but we are not. Each day, ours is the challenge to access the Atonement so we can truly change.”
